B's LUAU

The Birthday Girl (almost)

The whole gang
Jappy and I were up late decorating and putting things together for Brooklyn's party. We had 10 kids. Everyone seemed to have a blast. We had Hawaiian pizza, smoothies, Fruit skewers, gold fish and strawberry shortcake. Each guest was greeted with a lai, and a flower for their hair. We did Coconut Bowling, The Limbo and Coconut Hot Potato, and Sword Fighting. The Sword Fighting was every ones favorite along with the Bowling. Our house was an absolute ZOO but the kids all had FUN and that's all that matters. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

A Happy Birthday

Thank you for all the phone calls, cards, emails, and text's. I did have a very good day. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to hardly anyone. So I'm so sorry. I was away from the house and had my phone turned off for a good portion of the day, as I spent it at the Spa. It was so lovely to just relax and not do anything, THANKS to JAPPY! After I got home a couple of friends husbands were out of town so Jappy talked them into bringing there kids over while Just the girls went out for desert. It was fun we laughed a lot and got caught up on each others families. I love getting together with friends. It's something that doesn't happen enough. I should say that Jappy is very good to us He offered and took care of 10 kids. while we were out. This picture is what we came back to. He's holding Jay and Cannon (1 mos. younger than J) They both are sound asleep. He Really does amaze me.

The day before we went night skiing (My very 1st time ever) We got a baby sitter for the kids and we headed to the mountain. It was fun. I tried skiing and Jappy snowboarded. I did great until I needed to stop or slow down. I couldn't get that part figured out. So I would just CRASH. And I CRASHED a lot!! I'm a lil bruised and I have a sore shoulder but it was fun and worth it. Every time I went down the hill all I could think about was that I'm going to break my leg. I shared my concern with Jap and he said that he was worried about the same thing. SO that was my last run. It was probably a lil prompting that I should quit while I was ahead. So I watched Jappy do two more runs and then we headed home. It is something that I do want to do again, and something that I would like the girls to experience. It was a fun night together.

Jap was AMAZING! Myself not so much

Visit to Provo,Dinosaurs

We took a last minute trip to Provo to see Grandma Gordon, and Jared of course. We thought we would do something fun/educational for the girls while we were there. We went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. It was AMAZING!! I recommend it to everyone. It was well worth the 10$ to get in. We spent almost 3 hours there. The girls had a blast. They had all kinds of activities for the kids.

These were fossils that have been found mostly in Utah. They had drawers and drawers filled with different fossils all labeled of course.

Jay liked looking up at me making sure I was still there.

This was the Erosion Table. The kids got to manipulate (PLAY in) the water and sand, to find the buried dinosaurs. It was a mess with lots of kids. They didn't seem to mind. Lil side note Where are those parents of the kids who are throwing the sand at other kids? OOHH that makes me so mad.

This was a GIANT Sea Turtle. The biggest they've ever found.

SCARY!

This was another activity where kids get to discover dinosaur bones in the sand. Everyone gets a brush and they brush away the sand to find the dinosaur bones. We had a lot of fun, walking around and seeing all the giant dinosaurs, and learning about the different Era's. These are just a few of the activities they had.

Go Bengal's

2 Weeks ago we went to an ISU vs. Montana Basketball game.

Jay had his first picture with Benny the Bengal.

7 facts of Jen

My friend Megan (lives just down the road, and carpools with me for preschool) tagged me.

7 interesting things that you probably Don't know about me.

1. I learned to drive with an 81 ford pickup (stick shift) which I loved to drive despite the rusting paint job and dented body. One night my friend and I slept in the back of it under the stars. I would rather drive a truck than a car any day.
2. I did two 50 miler hikes while in High school. And LOVED every minute of it.
3. I wrote a children's book. I haven't done anything with it. It's just packed away in my cedar chest.
4. I learned to water ski at a young age. and have slalomed since I was at least 11 or 12.
5. NEVER broke a bone in my body.
6. Had horses when I was in high school. I love to ride, and desperately miss it.
7. I was our high school mascot my Sr. year with my best friend. We had a blast at games and activities. We even jello wrestled during our homecoming pep assembly.

I tag any and ALL who read this blog entry

Cold Season

I Hate cold and flu season!!! Jap, Jay and I have it. This bug just does not want to let us go.
My voice has been gone for the past 2 days. I'm hoping this is the tale end of it.
It's been a busy week, with football playoffs. Jappy had an Elders Quorum activity here on Thursday to watch the game. He had a really good turn out. At times it was pretty rowdy, but that's what makes it so much fun. Than on Saturday our nieces came to spend the night and play games. We laughed a lot and as always stayed up WAY TO LATE!
Brooklyn's birthday is coming up and she has decided that she wants to go to Hawaii for her Birthday. We told her to call Nana and Papa and talk them into taking her. I'm going to start watching for grass skirts and leis for her birthday. We thought that would be a fun way to celebrate with her. So if you have any "Hawaiian" ideas let me know.
Our Family has made a resolution to do our family scripture reading. We have been very successful so far. I hope that we can keep it going through out the year. It's been fun to see the scriptures come a live for Mady. She has a vivid imagination when it comes to reading, and surprisingly is able to take a turn at reading them.
I tried to get some pictures of Jay so that I could get them on my wall. I thought this one was cute.
We found baby Tad!! We bought him for Mady right after we had her and she LOVED him. Jay also has taking a liking to him.
Isn't he just a chunky lil man?? He doesn't miss ANY meals.
He's soo kissable.

Happy New Year

We started the New Year with a Bang. We had a last minute get together. It was a lot of fun. We had good food and fun games. Spills on the carpet, and hole in the wall later Our last guest left at 2:45 am. We all slept in until 1:30 the next day. Jay included. . We almost missed midnight We were so busy doing other things. It's always fun to get together with friends, and to just enjoy visiting and catching up. Even though we live close to each other and we're all in the same ward it just seems we never get a chance to really connect. Although as I was walking through the hall today after church I was informed that we will be hosting another party on Thursday. I'm getting all kinds of chances to catch up with the families in the ward. We do love having everyone over, it makes life fun.

Jay rolled over this week front to back, and back to front. He's laughing more, that has been really fun. Night time is when he gets really vocal He loves to touch our face and grab our hair. He's gotten Brooklyn to cry a few times from pulling her hair. But she still puts her face in his.
He likes to sit up. He hasn't mastered it on his own but he tries. He's enjoying his cereal. I think he just likes to eat no matter what. Jappy was holding him and getting a drink of water and Jay reached out for his cup. It was cute. This week Jay has started sleeping in his crib all night. Today he didn't wake up till 8 am. Brooklyn doesn't like him in there cause he wakes her up when he cries, so we're rearranging the sleeping arrangements. I really hate the girls sharing a room but I don't think I have any other choice. Who would think that in a 5 bedroom house they'd have to share a room.

Jay sitting up.

Licking the bowl

1st time in the crib Don't you love his sheet? ALL BOY!!
Our ward time has changed to 9 am. We made it almost on time. I'll be better prepared next week. Jappy has a 7:45 morning meeting so I get everyone ready and to church by myself. I Usually get to church with 10 min to spare. So I have some fine tuning to do before next Sunday. Last Sunday we had a snow/wind storm. Jappy didn't have a meeting so we got to drive in the same car (that hasn't happened in a while) It was a good thing cause one of our neighbors- also headed to church got stuck in a snow drift. Jap tried to push her out but her car was high centered on the drift. Another neighbor came a long (on their way to church) and they tried to get her out together, still didn't work. So Mike went back and got a tow rope and pulled her out. It makes me smile thinking of Jap in the snow with the gravel being thrown onto his newly dry cleaned suit. It was a fun adventure.

Santa brought Jay some lil soft balls that are perfect for him to grab.
Well our lil Diva put them in her shirt and calling them her boo boo's was dancing around the house. She is such a character. I thought she was to young for this.
Mady heads back to school tomorrow. This truly has been a vacation for her. I don't think the girls have gone to bed before 10 o'clock. (I'm usually a real stickler to bedtime routine). They went days with out bathing or brushing their teeth (poor parenting on our part) So tonight everything comes to an end. She'll be headed to bed at 7 tonight to insure a good nights rest. We're all ready to get back to our routine.
