White Christmas

Mady lost her two front teeth just before we left for Cd'A She's our lil vampire.

We've had some days lately with rotten lil girls, So we've had lots of conversations about Santa coming and presents., hoping to get them to behave a little bit better. Well Brooklyn woke up Christmas morning and came into the Living room and said " Well I guess we were good enough"
We had a great Christmas and really enjoyed being together.

The girls got many new jammies from us and Nana.
Nana made us matching pajama's but I didn't get a picture of them. Oops

There's one thing that I really dislike about Christmas and that is My house looks like a Tornado has entered it, Jay laid on the floor and watched the girls play barbies. Brooklyn is generously sharing her barbies with him.

We had a Great Christmas. We spent the day in our pajama's. We played games, watched movies, took a nap, played in the snow and Jappy Cooked dinner (prime rib)YUM
Although it is a long standing tradition that I get sick during the Holiday's and this year was no exception. I came down with a cold and couldn't taste or smell anything. Isn't that Sad?
Jay's 2nd attempt at baby cereal. I started him earlier than I would have liked but he seemed to be ready, and needing a lil extra something. He really enjoys it and seems to be sleeping a little bit longer.

Santa brought Jay some balls and he's very happy with them.

Winter Wonderland

We had a great trip home. It was definitely a winter wonderland. Coeur d'Alene received 35 in of snow in 35 hours. WE spent a lot of time outside playing in it. Jappy spent most of his time out plowing the drive way and making a path out in the field to pull the kids on the sled behind the 4
Wheeler.
This is Jap on the tractor pushing snow from the driveway

On the sled with Brooklyn and Kai and Duncan running along side us.

My dad's Dodge truck is under all that snow

Kai loves to wrestle with Uncle Jappy Jappy and the babies watching football

It was fun to see Ronny's family. It's been almost a year since we've seen them, the girls enjoyed playing with Kai. We also saw Bob and Cathy and Lilo. The girls and Jay were well loved. They even got to see Aunt Karla and Uncle Tim. It was really good to see them and catch up. We had a chance to catch up with all of our family and with a lot of our friends. There's NEVER enough time to see and do all we want when we're home. And always leaving wishing we did more but we enjoyed our visit and was glad to get home. The girls cried all the way to Costco. They didn't want to leave Nana's, It was so sad to hear them cry like that.

Uncle Bob and Lilo and Jay Aunt Karla
We drove 12 hours in a snow storm. (usually takes us 8.5 hrs)The worst storm We've ever seen. Most of the time we couldn't see the lines of the road or the semis in front of us. I'm grateful that Jappy is a calm and patient person I couldn't have kept my cool like he did. I'm so glad he got us home safely. We've been talking about getting a new car and this lil trip sealed the deal that we need 4W Drive.

Kai and Mady Jay (in blue) and Jaiden

Jaiden on the right is Ronny and Monika's miracle baby. He celebrated his 1st Birthday while we were there. Jay and him are only a 1/4 lb different in weight. Technically Jaiden is only 8 mos.
We're so happy he is doing so well.
We came home to a cold house. I thought it was Strange because I purposely didn't change the thermostat before we left because I didn't want to come home to a cold house. Come to find out we had an issue with a condensation hose that wouldn't let the house heat over 55 Degrees.

Oh my it was cold in the house. We moved everyone to our room and left the space heater on all night. Thank goodness!! Pocatello received some snow also. The Furnace repair man called when he was on his way and said he couldn't make it up the hill to our house, because there was so much snow. Jappy took the Durango down and picked him up, and then ran him around for parts. His company van wasn't handling the snow well at all.

By 2:30 the furnace was fixed and we we're starting to thaw out.

4 Months!!!

Jay's 4 Month Milestones
Laugh, He gave his first real laugh to daddy.
Grabbing toys and shakes them and puts them in his mouth.
He's finally pushing himself up when is laid on his tummy(this skill has taken sometime, cause he's such a 'tank' it's harder for him to hold himself up)
We're working on sitting up on his own and rolling over he's gotten really close to rolling over these last two days.
He loves Brooklyn. He loves to be snuggled, especially by mom
He's getting more vocal with high pitch squeals.
He's still happy and easy going. He's getting more fun every day.

About a month ago my nieces called and said they wanted to make candy. I told them good for them to be so ambitious. They asked if I had anything going on on a Friday in December and I said No. She said "Good cause we're doing it at your house." Silly girls.
So they met here early in the morning and spent the day. It was fun and entertaining. It was difficult at times cause we had two babies to take care of, but Brooklyn helped a lot with keeping them a lil entertained.
At one point she says "look, Mary and Mary" "I corrected her "Mary and Joseph"
'Oh yeah' she says. She had put their blankets on their heads by herself. We thought it was cute.

Brielle (Mary) is on the right if you couldn't tell.
She's so petite compared to Jay.
Saturday Mady had a birthday party to attend and Brooklyn was sooo sad to be left behind. So we decided to do some shopping for Mady. While we were driving Brooklyn serenaded us with her own rendition of Jingle Bells. It goes a lil like this:" Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Jingles on his way Na na na Hit me ride .........." then she trails off No matter how many times we had her sing we couldn't figure out what she was saying, and we couldn't get her to say the right words. We laughed a lot. I don't remember if I posted on my Halloween update about one her other lil sayings. The kids were pirates and she was trying to say ARR MATEYS and She kept saying
ARRR MAYONNAISE. She does say some funny things.
Jappy played football on Saturday in the snow. I think he's testing fate when he continues to play. The more he plays The odds of him getting hurt get greater. But he seems to come home in one piece. He has gotten lots of people to show up to play with them. People we don't even know have called our house wanting to play with them on the weekend. It's been a good way to get the ward members together.
We're getting our house together for Christmas and getting it clean before we head to
Coeur d' Alene on Wed. The girls are excited!!! I'm NOT ready for Christmas but I plan to finish while we're up north. We're looking forward to seeing Kai and Jaiden. It's been almost a year, since we've seen them.
I'm also looking forward to eating at the Olive Garden while we're there. Nana said she'd watch the kids. While we went out. Yeah for us!! I haven't eaten there since I was 5 or 6 mos pregnant. I told Jappy, I'm going all out, appetizer specialty drinks (virgin of coarse, well it depends on how well the drive there goes :) , and dessert. Oh I can't wait!!

SANTA BABY

Christmas Festivities

Mady lost a tooth recently and was soo happy with what the tooth fairy left her.

Jay loves this Lil blankie its soft on one side and silky on the other. He loves it touching his face. He snuggles with it and falls right asleep.

We got things decorated for Christmas Brooklyn made me laugh with the stockings

Those are cinder blocks that Jappy recruited the girls to carry upstairs. I'm just glad they didn't drop it on their toes.

Jappy as recently told Mady that she could carry Jay. Against my wishes of course. It makes me nervous to say the least. She is NOT allowed on the tile with him. (for obvious reasons) I But I'll have to admit it does make it nice when I need to get dinner going and he just wants to be held.

Santa Baby
We had a good week. We haven't seen Jap much and the girls always struggle with that. Key Bank is the main sponsor to the Festival of Trees here so he has spent some time there. We did get to go with him one night. It was nice to get out of the house. It gave me some good ideas for our tree for next year (It's getting time for a change) We also had the ward Christmas party. Nothing extravagant. The kids sang and we ate dinner, and of coarse mingled with friends that we rarely get to catch up with on Sunday.
Our nieces Wendy and Brenda came for the weekend with their families. It's always fun to see them and spend good quality time with them. I didn't get any pictures while they were here sorry. Well I took a few of Miss Brielle. I'll post those later with Jay's.
Jay's starting to blow bubbles, making a slobbery mess. He's getting better at sitting up. I'm not in a hurry for him to grow up ( I'm pretty open about that) And I don't remember what he should be doing at certain stages So when Wendy brings Brielle over and shows me her newest trick I think "Oh yeah I probably should put him down long enough for him to try to sit up. or lay him on his tummy to see if he'll pick himself up, or roll over". He's a lil behind Breille in these efforts. He kind of acts like a big ol beach whale. It's hard for him to hold up his chunky body. :) We do get a good laugh at his attempts. We love our "tank" and wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy Thanksgiving

Jay and Daddy enjoying their dinner!

Brooklyn helped me make pie. She mostly played in the flour.

We stayed home and had Thanksgiving with another family in our ward. It was nice to have company for dinner. It helped us not miss our families as much. Jappy played football, and he came home with NO broken bones. (I'm so proud of him) Just sore muscles and joints.
WE asked the girls what they were most thankfull for. It always amazes me at how much love they have for us and each other. Mady's thankfull for Her family. B's thankfully for her baby brother and her sister. I'm also thankfull for my family and Baby Jay. And so many other things that I take for granted every day. My Home, electricity, The church, Primary teachers that teach the girls things that I miss, Good friends that keep me sane, And Jappy who can make anything FUN.

Lil Update

We're still having issues with the computer. Tim Allen tried to put the part in and it did nothing. I'm REALLY happy that the computer still turns on and is in working order.
I thought I would write an update, and hope that it holds everyone over and makes them some- what happy. But I can't load any pictures until we get the right piece in.
We'll start with Mady's update:
School is going fantastic!! She is really excelling. She Has taken the AR STAR test Which means She reads a book at her reading level and then takes a test on the computer about the book. She's got all 100's and one 80% We're so proud of her and her eagerness to learn.
About a month ago Mady was playing with the neighbor boy Koby (they're best buds) and she got a black eye. No big deal (in my mind) We sent her to school the next day with a swollen and bruised eye. When I picked her up at school that day her teacher from last year flagged me down and said that she needed to tell me something funny that happened. And she tells me that a teacher's aid saw Mady on the playground with her black eye. She was concerned with how it happened and went to this teacher and asked if they should make some phone calls. Her former teacher told her that it wasn't something to worry about with our family. We had a good laugh. Thank goodness she didn't jump to too many conclusions. I am glad that they watch out for the kids, and want to protect them.
We have a skating rink here that the girls love to go to. Last month I took the girls to a birthday party. Mady skated up a storm. She did fabulous, with only a few falls, she skated the most out of the 20 other kids that were there. She's getting the hang of it.
Mady has really grown up and matured. We took the girls to the dentist and they couldn't get over how much Mady has changed and grown up. She does seem grown up, at times. It is hard to remember that she is only 6. She's wiser beyond her years. The Primary program was today and Mady did GREAT!! She memorized her part and said it perfectly and sang her lil heart out. It's so great to see the kids up there, and feel the spirit so strong testifying to us the truthfulness of what they're saying/singing.We love her and love how much she loves us.

Miss B has been full of it lately. Right after I had the baby she went through a phase of being obsessed with shots. Jappy and I took her and Jay in for their shots. She SCREAMED bloody murder. It was so embarrassing to see one of my kids act like that. Mady NEVER screamed like that with shots. EVER. Brooklyn started to scream before they even did anything. The nurse just sat next to her and that was it. But thankfully she won't get anymore until she's twelve. So since then she been obsessed with shots asking if I've had shots, and if it hurt, and how many, and if she has to have any more? No matter how many times I tell her to forget about it she still brings it up and is worried about it. She's also gone through a phase where she is scared of the police, (thanks to Jappy). She threw a pebble and it hit a neighbors parked car. We we're very angry that she threw a rock at a car, not knowing the size of it. Jappy told her how serious it was and said something about having to call the police. That did not go over well. She was CRYING her lil eyes out. For months afterwards anytime she heard a siren, she went crying into her room hiding in her closet, afraid that they we're going to take her away. It got to be that she could hear a siren 10 miles away. Poor girl. Jappy didn't help the situation. The teaser that he is, would feed on it and thought it was funny to see her run and hide. We have a friend who is an officer in Logan UT and he came with his family for a visit just after this happened and she was sure that he was coming to take her away. That was a rough first day visit. She kept her distance from him. Thankfully she's gotten over that phase. She's moved on to being scared of bees or I should say anything that flies. "Is that a sting bee?" she's asks. She won't go outside if she sees anything flying by the door. Even if it's a dead bug she'll walk a big circle around it or step on to make sure it's dead.
We had the flu bug come through our house during General Conference. Jay and Mady got it, so we had a garbage can close by at all times. Jappy was on the couch and coughed really hard and really loud. Brooklyn seeing us take care of Mady and making sure that she was throwing up in the garbage thought that Jappy was going to throw up. She looked horrified and scared. She quickly grabbed the garbage can and put it at his feet. He laughed and said "why do I need this?" she said "I thought you we're going to throw up" " you scared me". I told her He scared me too.
Brooklyn only drinks her milk threw a straw cause she doesn't want a milk mustache. She's very conscienous of her appearance. She changes her clothes several times a day and is constantly brushing her hair, looking in the mirror, and doesn't like to eat anything that makes her dirty or sticky. She won't eat Cotton candy. What kid won't eat cotton candy cause it makes you sticky? She doesn't like to eat oreos in public. I sent them to school with her for a snack and she wouldn't eat them at school cause she said that she didn't want the other kids to see her messy face. What 4 year old worries about their face being messy?
She Loves pre-school she has a fantastic teacher who always is doing something fun and creative with the kids. I car pool with some friends, that have a lil boy that also goes to this pre-school. I'm lucky enough to pick them up, and each time I ask How was your day? and What did you do today? Ashton ( the lil boy) say's "nothing" typical man and Brooklyn goes on for the whole car ride telling me every detail of her 2 hour day at school. It's so cute. Ashton usually will open up and tell me something about his day by the time we get him home. But for the most part he probably feels he can't get a word in with Miss Jabber Jaws sitting next to him.
Something funny she said to Jap yelling down the stairs "I ll be down in a jiffy" we thought that was cute and funny. She is a ham always looking to make us laugh. She's a real character. During Conference Pres. Monson was on the screen and we asked her who he was and she said that he was the new prophet, and that the one with the bounciest hand had died. We couldn't figure out what she was talking about bounciest hand. We thought that she was talking about how President Hinkley's hand shook while he talked. With further conversation we figured it out. The girls have learned the hymn We Thank thee Oh God for a Prophet. In the song the words are bounteous hand. She had associated the song with Pres Hinkley and didn't understand the word bounteous Out of the mouth of babes.
B is so helpful with Jay and feels terrible when he cries and tries to do everything she can to help him. She gets frustrated with Mady when Mady doesn't do the right thing when he's crying. It's really funny to listen to her yell at Mady on Jay's behalf. She's a really good helper and big sister.
Jay is growing and changing by the minute and I HATE IT. He is so sweet and cuddly. He's smiling and cooing and We're loving every second of it. He's such a good baby we couldn't have asked for a better baby. He still has his hair and it is turning blond. He's chunking up. I have officially put away the new born clothes. Why do they have to grow so fast?? He weighed 11 lbs at his 2 mos check up. During his check up of course he got shots, and he slept right through them. Not joking.. He let out a lil cry and that was it. Hopefully he'll always be easy at the doctor. (and not like Brooklyn) Mady was a lot like him in that the shots never really bothered her.
It's still hard to believe that we have a baby and it seems like we constantly forget the diaper bag or the bottle or a blanket. We're still trying to figure it out.
Thankfully we've never forgotten HIM.
Jap is still pretty busy at the bank. This summer we had a mole try and take over our front yard. Jappy spent a day trying to flush him out with the hose Caddy Shack style. He didn't have any success the first day. But the next day he was out in the yard with other husbands in the neighborhood and was venting his frustration about the mess in our yard due to this pest. When one of the holes started to vibrate and he saw the varmit poke his head out of the hole. It startled them at first and then they started yelling orders. Jappy ran and got the hose and turned it on and put in the hole. Sure enough the mole came out of it's hole. The men not being prepared for it to give up so quickly didn't have anything to kill it with. Jappy ran to the garage for the shovel. Clint realizing we needed to take the opportunity while we had it grabbed our rubber rain gutter drain and hit the hell out of it (for lack of better words) Those men were hilarious hearing their whoops and hollers and seeing the high fives. You would have thought they killed something a lil bigger than a mole, with the way they were carrying on. It still makes me laugh when I think about it.
The not so good part of this was that every ones kids we're in the front yard with their dads and saw the whole thing happen. I don't think any of them had night mares that night. It wasn't gruesome we told the kids that he was just knocked out. But the men took him out to the field and made sure it was dead. We wanted to make sure that he wasn't coming back. He really did a number on our yard. Good times and Fun memories.

We had a talent night in our ward and jappy and few of our friends dressed up as women and sang I'm so pretty. It was funny. I'll load pictures at a later date. It's a must see.
I have made it my goal to make breakfast for Mady before she goes to school. I've gotten up every morning at 7 and made a nice breakfast for her. I'm going on week three and I'm very proud of myself. I don't like mornings and never have. I don't even think I woke up that early to get myself ready for school. It's a very big accomplishment for me. I hope I can keep it going. Costco opened on Thursday. The girls seem to be more excited about it than we are. We came out of the store on Sat. after having lunch (hot dog of coarse) and Mady says let's go to Nana's. She apparently had a lil memory lapse of where we were. It was cute. They have asked everyday since if we can go to Costco. They just like to spend money on food we've decided.

Hopefully this week we'll be able to load pictures, and get caught up on emails. But you'll have to be happy with just a post for now.

Glitch

Our computer has a glitch, so we haven't been able to update. So in a few days hopefully the problem will be solved and I can update you on everything. I've been writing things down as they happen. The girls have been saying some funny things lately. Jay is growing and changing fast. He's starting to smile, I'm not convinced that he's smiling at us just yet. But we have gotten a few. Hopefully soon you'll hear more. Sorry about the delay.

Kids

Brooklyn has said some pretty darn funny things lately. On Friday a friend in the ward did a ladies luncheon / baby shower for Jay and another lady due in two weeks. Brooklyn was all confused by the words "baby shower" She asked "Dad are they going to give Jay a bath??" We laughed.
Then the next day she was eating a brownie that we brought home from the shower. She takes her first bite and says "impressive." she is funny and comes up with some cute things.
Mady is making us CRAZY!! If she's not crying she's doing something to make her sister cry. We can't seem to get her to stay away from or be kind to her sister. And she has really gotten sassy, especially with talking back. She seems too young to be doing that. We have noticed that anything her teacher says is gold and Jappy and I could say the same thing and we're wrong . It's pretty funny. She's reading well, we are very proud of her.
Jay is growing and changing. I hate it. I want him to stay my baby forever. I asked Jap "Do you think if I only fed him 2 oz. a feeding if he will stay a baby?" "No" he says "But you will be in jail"
We love our sweet boy and wish he could stay this way forever.
Unfortunatly He and I got a cold and we're both pretty miserable. I feel terrible for him and his snotty nose. Poor baby.
I will get the pictures up of his blessing soon. I lost my camera for the day so all the pictures are on my moms camera of the blessing. So I'm waiting for her to burn me a CD.

Nieces and Nephews

Our niece Wendy with her new baby Brielle. Brielle is 2 weeks younger than Jay. We actually had the same due date. CRAZY
Look at her hair, she has a lot more than Jay.

Our niece Jesse and the babies.

Our great nephew Mordiciah 6 mos.
We LOVE his afro. He loves to smile at his Aunt Jen.

Mady and Jay with Cash 18 mos
We are very lucky to be closer to Jappy's nieces and nephew's We've been able to spend time with them individually and be at all of their baby blessing. We have 14 Great nieces and nephews and We LOVE THEM ALL.

Ode to Football

Jay's 1st football game with dad.

Football season has officially started at the Jeppsen home. Every Sunday (sometimes Monday) from know till Febuary we will have a full house of friends, good food, and wild kids.
Jappy enjoys having other guys to yell and cheer with. It can get rowdy here. The girls always ask after church " Who's coming to our super bowel party today??" Jappy's playing fantasy football with some colleagues and he's loving it. After every game I hear all about it. Even when I say "I don't care" he still seems to think that I really want to know Silly boys and their games.

B's First Day of Pre School

Brooklyn had her first day of Pre- school and loved every minute of it. I'm not sure if she even told me good bye she was so excited. Mrs. Joni is her teacher and teaches out of her home. There are only 10 kids in her class, 7 of them are boys. She only goes twice a week for 2 hours a day but she wishes she could go every day. I hope she never looses her excitment about school.

First Day of School, Visit from Nana and Papa

Nana came for a visit We had a fun week with her. The girls enjoyed having someone to play with. And I enjoyed having someone cook and clean do the laundry, and take care of the kids. They went to the park, out to lunch, jumped on the trampoline, had tea parties, played games, and Nana sewed the girls costumes for Halloween, and did some mending of pants. She was a busy Nana!

Pinkies up

Papa came on Friday and the girls were excited to see him. He made them a ladder for the trampoline and read them books and played games.

We had a good time the with them and it was sad to see them leave. The girls have asked everyday since they've been gone when they will get to see them again. After mom and dad pulled out of the drive way to head home Brooklyn cried, and cried she didn't want them to leave. We really do miss them, and wish we could see them more often.

Mady's First Day of School !

We have made it through our first few weeks of First grade. It has been a lil bit of a challenge getting up early and her ready by 8:20 in the morning but we're getting it figured out. I did however, fail to pick Mady up on the first day of school. I felt like a terrible mother. Apparently I didin't get the memo that it was only a half day. I got a phone call from Mady saying "mom where are you?" Talk about a poor parenting moment. But she wasn't traumatized no big deal. I think I wasn't more upset by it then her.

Mady loves her teacher and is doing well in class. Her teacher is actually a member and is in our ward. It's crazy to think that she's old enough to be in first grade and be there all day. Brooklyn is enjoying her days with mom, but usually by lunch time is asking when Mady gets home. Brooklyn starts preschool on Tuesday and we're excited about that. We met her teacher yesterday and we think she is going to be perfect for Brooklyn.
( I love him in BLUE )
Jay is almost a month old. Holy Cow time is flying by. I'll post pictures of his blessing in a few days. He is changing everyday. He thinks he wants to suck his thumb. This does not go over well with me. I will NOT have a thumb sucker. Nana and Jappy think it's so cute, and it is but like I've been telling them it won't be cute when he's headed to school with his thumb in his mouth. His hair is lightening up. I guess he won't keep his dark hair. I'll just have to enjoy it while it lasts. He's not loosing it, it's just turning blonde.
He is a very good baby For the most part he sleeps well at night sleeping 4-5 hours at a time, and eating every 2 1/2 - 3 hours during the day. The girls enjoy him still, and are very helpfull. I'm still trying to get things figured out as far as how to get things done while taking care of a newborn. I have forgotten how much work they are, (and how many times I have to change their clothes). I've been spoiled with two older independent girls. All in all thinkgs are going well, and we are all stil adjusting, but it has all been worth it!
